It's Not Just Jokes & Chocolate

Title: It's Not Just Jokes and Chocolate
Rating:
R for innuendo
Word Count:
100
Prompt:
Hogsmeade & 'envy' for 100 Quills
Summary:
Remus hates Hogsmeade.
Disclaimer: Still not mine & not profiting.
Notes: I don't think this is one of my better drabbles, but c'est la vie. Apparently now is the winter of writing angsty RS fics.

Remus hates Hogsmeade.

It's not the place he finds offensive, but what it means when people are going to Hogsmeade together.

After much effort James is finally going with Lily, Peter with Julie, and Sirius had been to Hogsmeade with over a dozen girls – even, memorably, two on a single day.

Being abandoned thusly by one's friends is more than a fellow should have to put up with, Remus thinks, as he watches their labelled dots on the Marauders Map leave the castle.

Especially since Sirius goes to Hogsmeade – metaphorically that is, because he won't acknowledge it publicly – with Remus.

Waiting for the Great Leap Forwards

Title: Waiting for the Great Leap Forwards
Rating: PG-13
Prompt: social class differences
Summary: Four winters in Remus' life, told backwards.
Warnings: swearing, Muggle politics.
Disclaimer: I don't own these characters & make no profit from writing about them.
Notes: Written for [info]rose71  's prompt  "social class differences". At the end there's a slightly spoilery explanation of the historical context & slang for those unacquainted with the political history of the UK. With thanks to my betas [info]nathaniel_hp & [info]x_merlin , to Billy Bragg for the title (well, the song), and to trade unionists who not only brought us the weekend but have taught me a lot over the years. Er, I might have gone overboard with the prompt *looks sheepish*. Finally, this is also for my 100 Quills prompt "winter".

Downhill from Here

Title: Downhill from Here
Author: Woldy
Rating: PG-13 (for swearing)
Pairing: Sirius/James, Remus/Sirius, Lily/James
Prompt: 'Hollow' for 100 Quills
Wordcount: 100
Warnings: swearing, angst, spoilers for the prequel (does that even make sense as a concept?), unorthodox grammar
Disclaimer: These characters all belong to Jo.

I've been repeatedly ambushed by drabble bunnies recently. I'm in the middle of something and then wham it's thirty minutes later, I've written a drabble & work has gone by the wayside. Still, this is my first Sirius/James fic & it was fun to write. Poor Remus.

The difficulty with Sirius fucking James is that there's no good way for it to end.

Sirius has Remus, James has Lily, and they're best mates. It's all downhill from here.

At Hogwarts things between them were nearly but not quite, but now it indubitably, inescapably is. Is sexual. Nobody could attribute this to friendship.

Touching James is like being fifteen again, wild and reckless. It's no coincidence that they first fucked after fleeing Death Eaters and policemen by motorbike.

The shakily written note from Remus reads, "I'm leaving because of the lying, not the sex."

Remus never comes back.

Chosen family, or 'I'm looking at you, Proposition 8'

Title: Chosen family or 'I'm looking at you, Proposition 8'
Author: Woldy
Rating: PG (for swearing)
Pairing: Remus/Sirius
Prompt: family (& 'smile' for 100 quills)
Word count: 100

The problem wasn't that Sirius lacked a family, the problem was they were poisonous bastards who thought blood and money were all that mattered.

Fuck them. Nuclear families were bullshit. The only family that mattered were the ones you chose yourself – friends, lovers, carers if you were caught by a bad curse.

Sirius wished he were excited for James and Lily, but in truth he figured any institution that excluded gays was not an institution worth preserving.

"Ready, Pads? Got the ring?"

Sirius glanced at Moony who was smiling, spectacularly handsome in tails.

"Yeah," he said, stifling resentment. "Let's go."

My R/S Games Round 1 fic - Of Comets & Counter-Examples

There haven't been many fics posted here of late, which is partly because I've been working on 2 fics for the Remus/Sirius Games , which has been great fun. Since the reveals for Round 1 are now up, I can provide the details of my entry:

Triage (prompt: choices)

Title: Triage
Author: Woldy
Prompt: Choices
Word count: 100
Rating: G
Disclaimer: these characters all belong to Jo.
Author's notes: AU (unless Peter is lying in canon). Peter's POV & quite dark.

The first letter came in November, threatening Peter’s life unless he betrayed James. Peter tore the parchment it into pieces and burnt it.

The second arrived in January: “Give us the Potters, or we take silver blades to your friend. Three days, your choice.”

Peter sat up, shaking, all night.

He wanted to floo them all, but it would have been a tacit decision to sacrifice Remus’ life. Sirius’ too, since they were inseperable.

Silver was a horrible way to die. Remus’ death wouldn’t stop the Death Eaters; nothing seemed to stop them.

By morning he’d made a choice.

To Obliviate or Not To Obliviate...

Title: To Obliviate or Not To Obliviate…
Author: Woldy
Prompt: Cameras
Rating: R
Word count: 100
Notes: This is a companion piece to Plausible Deniability and Flash, written from James’ POV.
Disclaimer: the boys don't belong to me & I derive only enjoyment from using them.
Warnings: implied naughtiness, including boysex & restraints.

James eyed the living room warily.

You had to be circumspect at Sirius’ flat, because weird charmed or cursed objects mingled with the ordinary clutter. Books were ok, though, because Remus insisted they were sacrosanct.

So when James opened the book lying on the sofa, he didn’t expect a pornographic photograph to fall out.

Remus was kneeling, his eyes covered by a blindfold and his mouth around Sirius’ cock.

James stared. A hand appeared, cupping Remus’ neck as Sirius slowly, thoroughly fucked his mouth.

Blushing, James slammed the book shut.

Too much information.

But he kept the photo…just in case.

Flash (companion to Plausible Deniability)

Title: Flash
Author: Woldy
Prompt: Cameras
Rating: R
Word count: 100
Notes: This is a companion piece to Plausible Deniability, written from Sirius’ POV.
Disclaimer: the boys don't belong to me & I derive only enjoyment from using them.
Warnings: implied naughtiness, including boysex & restraints.

Remus was beautiful.

Sirius had often thought this, eyes tracing the planes and angles of his body, the sharply curving ribcage, the shadowed crease at his hip. Even battered, post-transformation Moony was exquisite in the Shack’s grey light.

Remus disagreed, but then he couldn’t see himself.

Somebody, Sirius felt, ought to remedy that.

Getting the equipment was easy, because you could buy anything in Knockturn Alley. Trapping Remus was harder, but Sirius had practiced.

“Smile for me, Moony.”

“You’re mad,” said Remus. But he still smiled, his eyes blindfolded, back arched against Sirius, hands tied behind him.

The camera flashed.

Plausible deniability (prompt: cameras)

Title: Plausible deniability
Author: Woldy
Prompt: Cameras
Rating: R
Word count: 100
Notes: I've now written a companion piece, Flash, from Sirius' POV.
Disclaimer: the boys don't belong to me & I derive only enjoyment from using them.
Warnings: implied naughtiness, including boysex & restraints.

It was all Sirius' idea.

Remus had never heard of magical pornography beforehand, and even if he had he wouldn’t have agreed to participate.

These photos were the result of a misunderstanding on Remus’ part, coupled with a blindfold and some conjured rope.

“You utter bastard,” said Remus, staring at the pictures spread out across the table.

The figures in the photographs were writhing and thrusting unmistakeably. Despite the monochrome tones and Sirius’ protestations, it was plainly not ‘art’.

“You’d better keep these to yourself, Sirius,” Remus warned.

Sirius grinned like a wolf.

“That’s exactly what I intend,” he said.

Friction

Title: Friction
Author: Woldy
Prompt: Work
Word Count: 100
Disclaimer: The boys don't belong to me & I derive only enjoyment from using them.
Author notes: Unorthodox grammar, but it's intended as a train of consciousness. I hope it makes sense!
Comments: Appreciated muchly.

Sirius was never easy.

Brilliant, passionate, inspired – yes; but never easy.

A relationship with Sirius was, well, hard work.

Work, Remus thinks (remembering the physics textbooks littering their house, his dad’s patient explanations over toys) is when a force acts upon an object, causing it to move.

Sirius is a high friction surface: achieving any movement or compromise is difficult and there’s a constant danger of sparks.

Remus fears someday he will cease to move Sirius at all, or that Sirius will catch flame. Or worse, he may be pushed too far, beyond reach, falling, falling…

"Two people together is work
heroic in its ordinariness,
the slow-picked, halting traverse of a pitch
where the fiercest attention becomes routine
-look at the faces of those who have chosen it."

Ill-ovoo

I was in the midst of editing a serious, academic thingy when the idea for a Sirius/Remus Scrabble Drabble sprung upon me. Looking back at that sentence, it is clear that too much editing addles the brain. In any case, here's the result. It's not BETA-d, so I apologise for any glaring mistakes.

Title: Ill-ovoo
Pairing: Remus/Sirius
Rating: G
Words: 200
Summary: Sometimes you don't have to get the spelling right
Warnings: Fluffy enough that it might set off your allergies
Disclaimer: These boys belong to Jo.

Scrabble was Remus’ favourite game.

This was partly because Remus liked words, but mostly because Scrabble was one of few games without any explosions, nasty squirting goo, or some other form of noise, mess or violence. Remus didn’t object to noise, mess or violence per se – he was a Marauder after all – but he preferred them to take more imaginative forms.

Also, you couldn’t play those sorts of games in the hospital wing, which was where Remus and Sirius were currently sitting. The board, so far, consisted largely of four letter words. Sirius didn’t seem to be trying very hard.

“Get on with it Padfoot,” Remus said, watching Sirius frown at his collection of letters.

“These are lousy letters,” Sirius mumbled.

“Chuck ‘em back, then.”

After a pause, Sirius intersected the tiles LOVU with the I of an existing word.

“Ill-ovoo?” Remus said, reaching for the dictionary. “Surely that isn’t-”

Remus stopped and re-read the letters. He glanced up at Sirius, who was staring fixedly at the table.

“You’ve spelled it wrong,” Remus said. He added the E, O and Y tiles, then reached out to brush Sirius’ fingers.

Sirius looked up. His smile was like the sun coming out.

Biblical & Encyclopaedic

Being an avid HP fanfic reader, I set up this LJ so that I could comment on other people's fic. But then I found that occasional plot bunnies would jump into my head, and sometimes I would frenziedly scribble a story for my own amusement. This fic was the product of such a plot bunny attack, sometime in April 2007. It was written pre-DH but is DH compliant.

Disclaimer: Not (alas) mine, just borrowing.
